Afrobeat is a genre of music that originated in the 1960s and 1970s as a blend of traditional Yoruba music from Nigeria, along with jazz, West African highlife and funk. This Genre was pioneered by Nigerian musical artist and activist Fela Kuti. To date, Fela Kuti is known as the father of Afrobeat music. To date, AFROBEAT FIT pays homage to Fela Kuti and other artists and influencers who have positively impacted the culture with accessible wellness, African dance exploration and inclusivity. AFROBEAT FIT® is leading the movement of the Diaspora and our experiences are a bridge to connect people to joy, love and their roots!
